Water/Sewage Rates
Water and Sewer rates are established by the City of Cambridge for residents of the City of Cambridge and by the Region of Waterloo for residents of the Township of North Dumfries.
At Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. we read the meters and bill the water/sewer services on behalf of the City and the Region.
The water and sewage rate structure applies the water and sewer cost to customers on a "User Pay" basis, and therefore benefits users who are conscientious in conserving water.
The monthly service charges represent the basic fixed cost to provide these services regardless of volume. The consumption or volume of water and sewer represent the cost of purchase and delivery of the water and the cost of receiving and treating the sewage.
The monthly service charges may also apply as a minimum monthly billing.

The following rates are in effect for water and sewer charges after April 1, 2008.
- Water Rate: Total water consumed @ $1.0572/cubic Meter plus monthly service charge.
- Sewer Rate: Total water consumed @ $1.0646/cubic Meter plus monthly service charge.
- Monthly Service Charges: Based on the size of the water meter serving your home or business.

TOWNSHIP OF NORTH DUMFRIES CUSTOMERS - 2008 WATER AND SEWER RATES
The Region of Waterloo is responsible for the ownership and maintenance of the water and sewer in the Township of North Dumfries. Township of North Dumfries residents with question or concerns regarding their water and sewer rates may contact the Customer Care Department of Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. at 519-621-3484 or email your query to customercare@camhydro.com. If we are not able to address your concern we will redirect your query to the proper department at the Region.
The following rates are in effect for all bills issued after April 1, 2008.
- Water Rate: Total water consumed @ $1.15/cu. Meter plus $3.00 monthly service charge.
- Sewer Rate: Total water consumed @ $1.04/cu Meter plus $3.00 monthly service charge.
All Water and Sewer Rates are subject to a 1.5% Late Payment Penalty Charge if not received by the Due Date and an additional 1.5% per month thereafter.
