Payment Options

We have been working very hard to improve customer service. And whether you need a service truck dispatched to your neighborhood, technical advice about making better use of your electricity or a friendly voice on the phone to answer your question ... we want "your community hydro" to be hassle free!

That includes offering you a range of choices to make paying your regular hydro bill as easy and convenient as we can. Here are your options... choose the one that suits you!

The right payment option is the one that suits you best!

Credit Card Payment

We now accept payments using Visa or MasterCard through a bill payment system powered by Paymentus Corporation.

How do Credit Card Payments Work?
Customers have two choices for paying their hydro bill using Visa or MasterCard:

Option 1: Online Payment

Option 2: Telephone Payment
Call 1-866-447-5021 to make a Credit Card Payment by telephone.

Paymentus Corporation charges a convenience fee for paying bills using this service.

When you make a payment online or through the toll free telephone using Visa or MasterCard, we will receive a notification of your payment, if accepted. We will then post it to your account within two business days. You will also receive a confirmation number when your payment has been accepted. Please record the date you made your payment and the confirmation number for your future reference.

Our Cashier does not accept Credit Card payments in our office. Payment by credit card can only be done directly by the customer on-line at the Secure Web page or by calling the toll free number.

Automatic Payment

Our Automatic Payment Plan (APP) offers a convenient, easy way to pay. APP is available to all our residential and business customers.

Convenience
No more cheques to write. No more searching for stamps, or worrying about mail delays. Automatic payment ensures your bill is paid exactly when it's due.

Savings
No more late payment charges. You save on stamps and envelopes - and best of all you save TIME!!

How does APP Work?
Rather than sending us your cheque when you receive your bill, you simply pre-authorized the payment.

Paying your bill through APP is just like sending us a cheque - only simpler. We present your authorization to your bank for you, and your payment is deducted on the date indicated on your bill.

You get a hassel-free way to pay your bills and the use of your money right up until the day the bill is due.

No more late payment charges, searching for stamps or worrying about mail delays. You save Money and Time.

The Basic Plan
Available to both Residential and Business customers

Your bill will be sent to you as usual, over 2 weeks before it's due. On the due date, the net amount will be automatically deducted from your bank account. You know in advance the exact amount and when it will be paid.

The Equal Payment Plan
Available to Residential customers only*

Want to level out your utility bills? This plan lets you budget for an equal payment amount each month. A fixed agreed upon amount is automatically deducted each month. You choose whether to have the payment made on the 1st or the 15th of each month when you join.

Your EPP amount is reviewed every six months to ensure it is in line with your actual consumption.

An application form is attached to each of our return envelopes.

For EPP only: Electric heating customers must begin between April 1st and August 31st. Other residential customers may join the program at any time.

APP not for you? It's OK, we offer a number of other payment options for your convenience.

Pay by Phone/PC Banking

Fast, convenient, 24 hour access and you don't need to leave home.

If you want to pay through your Bank, you can now pay by phone at any participating Bank or Trust company. You control when you pay, but please remember - it takes 3 to 4 working days for us to receive the payment from the bank so allow enough time for processing to ensure you meet the due date. Below are just some of the participating banks where you can pay by phone.

 

Note: When you sign up for a Payment by Phone or PC Banking service you will be asked to enter a 14 digit account number. To do this, enter your 6-digit customer number followed by your 8-digit account number.

Payment Agents

Forget to pay and it's after "business hours"? No problem - our payment agent is open evenings and even on weekends. You can pay your bill at 9, 10 or even 11 p.m.

Banking

We provide the option of paying through local banks and trust companies as a convenience to our customers. You should be aware, however, that when you pay at the bank it often takes 5-7 days for that payment to reach us. During that time, we have no way of knowing that you have paid. Paying by phone, at a Payment Agent or through APP gives greater convenience and avoids the problems these delays can cause.

By Mail

Use the return envelope provided and pop your payment back in the mail. Please be sure to allow for your bill to arrive at our office before the discount date on the bill.

Drive-by our Office

You can drop your payment off at our office without even leaving your car! Our "Drive-by" depository is located in front of our office at 1500 Bishop Street. Or drop in to our offices -- we're open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, except for statutory holidays.

Paying in Person? Please remember to bring in your full bill. The bottom portion is used to provide you with a receipt.
