PAL Program
Operation PAL - (Public Alert Program)
Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro has a long tradition of community service. Our staff have always made it a practice to help those in distress wherever possible. In support of that aim the Commission has joined Operation PAL (which stands for Public Alert) along with a number of other utilities and agencies across southern Ontario.
Our employees are trained to be on the alert for;
- People in Obvious Distress
- Lost Children
- Suspicious Activities in Progress
Our radio equipped vehicles will then be able to advise the proper authorities. The purpose of this program is to observe and report, but not become physically involved in crime prevention.
