CAMBRIDGE, Ont. - At Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. the tables are set and some 14 different pots of chili are simmering for the lunch hour today - February 27th at noon. It is "game on" and may the best chef win! The Energy+ team are hosting their fourth annual Chili Cook-Off. Spirits are high as the team get ready to test the pots of delicious chili donated to raise funds for the local United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries.
President John Grotheer said "...The momentum increases each year as the team organize their next annual Chili Cook-off. The spirit of family really pops at this event. You get an opportunity to see co-workers in a friendly competition - and the chili creations are unbelievable. Our talented 'chefs' deliver a chili to please every palate, and this year, rumour has it we will have both wild game and a vegetarian entry".
Employees are challenged to cook up a pot of chili using their secret ingredients and enter their creation in support of the event. All employees are invited to purchase "tasting rights" to more than fourteen separate entries, ranging in heat from "a spark" to "a shock" to "electrifying".
