PLANTING TREES IS EARTH WISE AND ENERGY SMART!
CAMBRIDGE, ON - Spring has arrived and that means Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. volunteer employees are out in the community promoting energy conservation.
Recently volunteers from Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro Inc. responded to a request from a local school and helped the environment by selecting, delivering and planting three trees.
John Grotheer, President said, “Last year we introduced a new Tree Planting Program to benefit our community and the province. From an environmental perspective, the planting of trees accomplishes many benefits. We think of our employees as Conservation Ambassadors. I am proud that members of our team show their commitment to the community and volunteer their time and energy.”
Hydro employees selected and planted three new trees in the schoolyard at Tait Public School. “Trees are a natural resource. They add character and beauty to a school yard, and provide a shaded gathering place for students protected from the sun”, said Grotheer.
