When it comes to Safety there should be no shortcuts. In fact the safety of you, your family or your co-workers depends upon following safe work procedures at work and at home.
This includes any digging or excavating you may be planning. You may be digging to install a new fence, a flag pole or even a tree. Be smart – Be safe – Call Before you dig.
Always call before you dig to locate underground wiring, piping or infrastructure on or around the area you plan on excavating.
Be prepared before you make your calls for a Locate. Give the utilities enough lead time to ensure your locates can be performed – most utilities ask you to book your locate a minimum of five days in advance. When you call for locates have the following information ready: Name, Phone Number, Municipal Address of the dig site, reason why you are digging and general location ( for example : planting tree in the front yard) Closest cross street or intersection, County and Municipality.
